5 minutes of walk from Peel or McGill Station.
Tournament Format: 5 rounds Swiss, bring your own clock.
Time Control: G/90 with 30 second increment each move.

Championship section $55; U20: $40  McGill student/staff/alumni FQE Master : $30
$10 more after April 1st, $20 more on site.

Only $30 for all before April 1st, $35 before April 30, $40 on site. At least $300 in prizes per section (as gift certificates, material and cash). Prizes could be raised according to the participation.

Note (April 13) : A first prize of $1000 was added to section A, thanks to a generous donation of Hugh Brodie (who manages Canbase and worked at McGill University until his retirement in 2013). This first prize cannot be shared and an Armageddon game will be used to determine the winner (other prizes will be shared).

Section details:

Section A (2000+, FQE, CFC and FIDE rated):

All players must have an Elo over 2000 (FIDE, FQE, USCF or CFC).


Section B (U2000 FQE rated):

All players must have rating (FQE, CFC, FIDE or USCF) under 2000.

Section C (U1500 FQE rated):

All players must have rating (FQE, CFC, FIDE or USCF) under 1500.

FQE or CFC membership or tournament passport required (depending on the province)

Refunds are possible until May 1st, with 15$ administrative fees.
