  1. Hi Chess Club. My son is an excellent Chess player and lives in downtown Montreal. He is 37 years old. Would he be able to play in your club? If not, could you please suggest other Chess clubs? Thank you.

    1. Dear Lynne,
The club encourages students and non-students to partake in our weekly meetings. We only meet in the Fall and Winter semesters; your son may go to Cafe Pi or the Club d’Echecs de Montreal (Montreal chess club) for games year round.

      Best,
      Houji

  2. Hi, I am an student in U.S. I might transfer to McGill next semester. My provisional ranking is 2461. Do you guys have any idea that would the chess ranking would help me to get the offer? Lol.

    1. Hi Yixin,
That is a nice rating! I’m not sure how admissions works, but if you mentioned it in your application perhaps it would be a good thing. Hope you get in!
